Police shoot Discovery Channel gunman

<p><br /> Police have shot a man who took hostages at the headquarters of the Discovery Channel in suburban Washington.<br /> </p><p><br /> Officers said they injured the suspect and took him into custody after he held three people prisoner at the building in a suburb of the US capital. All the hostages were freed unharmed.<br /> </p><p><br /> SWAT teams were sent to the scene after an Asian man entered the building wearing what appeared to be metallic canister devices on his front and back and pulled out a handgun.<br /> </p><p><br /> Local media reported that police said the man's name was James J Lee. A man named James Lee of San Diego was arrested in February 2008 after throwing money into the air in a protest outside the Discovery building.<br /> </p>
